EAST MEET WEST INTERCHANGE OVERPASS PARADE - the score:
Twoparades will become one on an Indianapolis interchange overpass. Participantsand viewers representing the EAST and WEST of Indianapolis,Indiana, the United States and the world will converge on each other visible tothe speeding traffic below. The parade will begin as easterns andwesterns assemble on either side and will end as they gradually drift away fromthe mash-up on the overpass.
1. Anorth-south line is struck where the Interstate 70 meets Interstate 65 at theVirginia Ave. overpass in Indianapolis.
2. Allparade participants from the west side of that line will assemble at theintersection of East Street & Virginia Avenue.
3. Allparade participants from the east side of that line will assemble at theintersection of Shelby Street & Virginia Avenue.
4.Those residing west of that line coming to view the event will assemble alongVirginia Ave. west of the overpass.
5.Those residing east of that line coming to view the event will assemble alongVirginia Ave. east of the overpass.
6. Atnoon on Saturday, April 26th, the two parade groups will proceed on the rightlane of Virginia Avenue heading towards each other.
7. Aseach parade passes, the assembled viewers along Virginia Avenue will fall inline behind.
8. The two parades will pass each other oneither side of the overpass, the following viewers may assemble in the centerof the overpass, or wherever they are comfortable.
9. Theeast marching westside parade (visible to cars on the northbound Interstate)may make a u-turn as it reaches the east end of theoverpass, continue straight ahead to the beginning point of the other parade ordissolve into a mash-up of east, west and audience on theoverpass.
10. The west marching eastside parade(visible to cars on the southbound Interstate) may make a u-turn as it reachesthe east end of the overpass, continue straight ahead to thebeginning point of the other parade or dissolve into a mash-up of east, westand audience on the overpass
11.Folding in on itself parts of the two parades may pass each other, combine asone infinite circular parade, or collapse into one masswhere the lines between east and west, performers and audience disolves.
12. Theparade will end gradually as participants, marchers and audience slowly driftaway and head back to the museum....
