Broque (2004), a pychedelic study in the extra-pedestrain, investigates robbinschilds’ interest in everyday places, public spaces, hotel hallways, camouflage and filigree. The piece, originally performed in NYC in 2004, has been adapted for this evening’s performance at the dome.
Based on a common interest in dance and installation pieces, frequent collaborators sonya robbins & layla childs created robbinschilds in 2001. While studying dance at Bard College, San Fransisco born Sonya Robbins met native New Yorker Layla Childs, where the pair began collaborating. After graduating with B.A. degrees in choreography, Robbins and Childs co-founded the New York-based Kick Stand Dance collective with fellow Bardians Cary Baker, Abby Bender and Anna Luckey. The group opened Triskelion Arts in 2000, a performance and rehearsal studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. robbinschilds most recent production was the premier of Half Space, an evening-length quintet commissioned by Dance Theater Workshop in NYC, March 2005. robbinschilds is thrilled to be at the dome! robbinschilds@yahoo.com

XXX 'dreamcatchers' by anna sew hoy XXX
Dreamcatchers are tools for capturing and controlling dreams. They represent a belief in dreams as visions, as important signs that have an effect on life outside of sleep. I think that art can be thought of in a similar way. We have a mystical belief in the visions of artists. Their visions show us how to "see" the larger culture.
I was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and now I live and work in Los Angeles and New York. I think I've been to more consecutive Sundown Salons than anyone else.
