Sundown Salon #14: Showdown! - WOODEN MOUSTACHE
Showdown! will include Wooden Mustache's Spring 2005 line. Concepts and themes are derived from flags. In addition to being involved with the runway show, Wooden Mustache will present separate performance entitled 'Spinning', which incorporates flag spinners, models, a baton twirler, and a woodwind quartet. Wooden Mustache is a blend of boring and bold. The overall aesthetic and combination of details is meant to present its wearer as a conflicted, competent collection of intelligence, know-how, and wit. The pieces are often designed with an element of childhood simplicity or idiocy. When the wearer can recognize this soft self-inflicted mockery as healthy and smart, the juxtaposition set up suggests a sharp sense of self-assurance.
