Sundown Salon #14: Showdown! - CLAUDIA ROSA LUKAS

BIO: lives and works in Vienna / Austria. Born in the seventies in lower Austria, soon got increasing interest in fashion and all around it. Shortly after her graduation at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and at HDK in Berlin, where she was taught by Vivienne Westwood, Helmut Lang, Marc Bohan and J.C. de Castelbajac, she launched her own label. Lukas won the fashion award of the city in vienna in 2001 and was one of the finalist in the 17th Festival International des Arts  de la mode à Hyères in France, also invited to take part in the Enkamania competition / Italy, including Franca Sozzani as a chairman. In addition to her seasonal participation in Paris Fashion Week since 2001, Lukas also works in the fields of multimedia and costume design. To that correspond publications in magazines like I-D/UK, Oyster/AU, SHOWstudio/UK and tigermagazine/JAP and exibitions in Kuenstlerhaus and MAK/ Vienna.   Her work is approached by art, functionality, sensuality and fashion for real life. Fashion emphasises for her the personality and the correct synthesis between the intellect and feminity.
